Calculations for the carbon footprint calculator on this website were gathered from equations and formulas provided publicly by the Environmental Protection Agency and the University of California, Berkeley's Institute of the Environment. ## Household Energy

CO2 emissions in pounds = (average amount of electric bill per month ÷ price per kwh) × electricity emissions factor × months in a year
